Heart Yorkshire’s BIG Boogie challenge for THE BUILD

Looking for inspiration on ways to take part in The BIG Challenge? Then look no further. With this spectacular eight-hour fundraiser, it doesn’t get much bigger than that!

The team at Heart Yorkshire wanted to get involved in our BIG Challenge so they could raise funds to support THE BUILD project. They decided to create a fun event that everyone could get involved in.

At Heart, they turn up the feel good every day with the music they play, so what better way to support THE BUILD than sticking to what they know best – Music!

They came up with the BIG Boogie idea and enlisted help of some of their contacts to get involved. Cuckoo provided the space for them to dance, and Haribo kept them energized with sweets! For eight hours, the people at Heart danced their socks off.

Between the team they managed to raise an incredible £550 – thank you very much! We’re pretty lucky to have incredible supporters like you. With your help, we will be one step closer to reaching our target of £2.1m to complete THE BUILD.

Raising vital funds for THE BUILD

For the past 37 years, Martin House has been a pillar of support for thousands of families across Yorkshire. With THE BUILD, we aim to transform the hospice to meet the evolving and complex care needs of the children we serve, ensuring families can continue to access our services free of charge in a facility that matches the high level of care we provide.

Thinking of taking part in our BIG Challenge? Then hear from the people at Heart themselves on what an incredible event it was:

Heart Yorkshire’s Drive presenter Dixie said “It’s seemed like a daunting and ridiculous task at 12 o’clock, when we first started, but it became clear that this was going to be a great day. The hours flew by, and we had so much fun. I would definitely recommend doing something like this with your friends, family, or work mates.”

Izzy, Heart’s Drive Producer, added “Our big boogie for Martin House was one of the best things we’ve done as a team in the time I’ve been at Heart Yorkshire. A day full of dancing, laughing and singing was the perfect way to raise money for an amazing cause. Would recommend taking on a big challenge of your own for Martin House.”

Heart’s Station Director, Liz Paver agreed “Our team wanted to do something special for Martin House Children’s Hospice. As part of the BIG Build, Martin House challenged us to think big. That’s how we came up with the BIG Boogie, an 8-hour dance-a-thon. It turned out to be more challenging than we expected, but we motivated each other to keep going—with a lot of help from the music!”
